Tru:Tek and Rich Page of UME Toys have joined forces to form Submission Toy to collaborate on a number of sofubi and keshi-related projects. They’ll have a large number of figures available beginning on Friday February 24th 2017 at 6PM ET.
Funko has announced their new Rick and Morty Mystery Minis series. This blind bag collection includes all of your favorite characters from the popular series on Adult Swim. You’ll be able to collect all 12 of the stylized characters for the ultimate mini Rick and Morty collection.
Buzzard Guts and DAMarx Toys has released their latest bootleg resin art series. It’s a Star Wars/Marvel mash-up that uses Kenner’s 1977 protocol droids as a base for popular Marvel characters. These 3.75-inch tall resin figures are hand cast and hand painted by DAM and mounted on a sturdy 6-inch x 9-inch cardback with illustrations by Ryan Winn (one of the creators of Valiant comics). Each card features a homage to classic Marvel comic covers by Jack Kirby, Bob Layton and Todd McFarlane.
There are 4 figures in the set – The Cybot Avengers features C3-PO as Iron Man and the Captain, while RA-7(death star droid) mutates into Hulk and Spidey.
On Friday February 24th 2017 at 2:30PM ET, the Skelevex Defaced Series 3 will be released over at www.dmsdesignertoys.com. This collaborative Skelevex Die Orama custom series features the Birmingham UK graffiti writer known as Hoakser. Measuring in at 3 inches long, the handmade polyurethane resin cast Skelevex feature the hand-painted graffiti style designs of Hoakser.
The Artpin Collection has announced a few art pins that they’ve added to their collection. First up, there’s Vampyramid by Portland artist Martin Ontiveros. The 1.5-inch hard enamel pin on a card is released in a limited edition of 125 pieces.
Secondly, there’s Arianhrod from internationally acclaimed Scarygirl creator artist Nathan Jurevicius. The 1.25-inch hard enamel pin on a card, available in two colors. Each one is released in a limited edition of 75 pieces.
Michael Stills and Strangekiss are back. And their first original release is Unknown by Jon Paul Kaiser. Yes…this resin art toy is purchased blindly. You can sort of tell what it looks like from the drawings and you likely know JPK’s style. This limited edition run of 15 pieces will begin shipping in 6 to 8 weeks. The approximately 4-inch tall figure sells for $159.95.
Scott Kinnebrew – a.k.a. The Forces of Dorkness – has created this John Wick Chapter 2 – The Pencil as a tribute to an amazing action-movie franchise. It’s a real pencil, coated is resin for durability, and custom painted to look like it has entered someone’s skull and then been retracted. Each one is hand made so there is some variation between each so no two are alike.
I was one of those people who helped with the MST3K Revival Kickstarter project. And there’s usually not a week that goes by without one old episode showing up on my television thanks to the PlutoTV and ShoutFactoryTV apps. So when Dark Horse announced a new partnership with the popular entertainment brand and cult-hit comedy series Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K), I become downright giddy (maybe not giddy). They’re apparently working on a brand-new comic series as well as a variety of Dark Horse–designed products.
Threezero has released their 1/6 scale Commander Lin Mae collectible figure for pre-order. From “The Great Wall” movie license, the figure retails for $168.00 with worldwide shipping included in the price. The Commander Lin Mae collectible figure stands approximately 11 inches tall and features highly-accurate life-like likeness to Jing Tian (景甜) as she portrayed Lin Mae in the film. The figure features realistic synthetic hair, and comes with tailored clothing and highly detailed armor outfit with paint application simulating metal armor and weapons.
McFarlane Toys has announced it’s once again partnering with Bungie to create Guardian action figures from the hit video game – Destiny. McFarlane Toys’ initial wave of Destiny toys will include fully articulated figures that depict Guardian Classes, including the Titan, Hunter, and Warlock. These figures will debut in new window box collector packaging and will come with a Destiny branded detailed base. Look for them to be released in Summer 2017 and retail around $19.99 each.
Dark Horse and HBO Global Licensing are introducing new looks for some familiar characters in their bestselling line of Game of Thrones figures. The new figures will be released in June 2017, coinciding with the Season 7 premiere of the award-winning show this summer. Dark Horse revealed the opening figures, Daenerys Targaryen and Melisandre, at the American International Toy Fair.
Coming off the wildly popular custom series The Vandalos, Kidrobot has announced the next in line of the 5-inch Dunny series, Jack by Shiffa. There are two colorways of this peice. The first is designed in classic Shiffa black and white and limited to 300 pieces. The second is the Kidrobot.com exclusive sepia tone colorway limited to 200 peices. You can purchase either one for $49.99 each.
Monogram International has announced a series of Invader Zim Blind Bags. The series includes the following characters: Duty Mode GIR, GIR in Dog Suit, Zim, GIR in Disguise, Zim, GIR w/Stuffed Monkey, Pig, GIR, Dib, as well as our two exclusive characters – Gaz, and GIR w/Pig. Look for them to be released soon.
Kosrobot has released the new Iron Goth figure. Priced at $55.00 plus $11.00 shipping worldwide, this 4-inch tall acrylic and resin figure features 11 points of articulation. The figure is hand-cast and hand-painted.
There are three versions of Iron Goth currently available – “Original” (grey), “Blood” (red), and “Night” (black).
Toy Art Gallery is releasing the first factory-painted edition of Martin Ontiveros’ Glampyre. The Glampyre Zardoz Edition stands 8 inches tall, features articulation at the head, arms, wrists, waist, and boots. This edition features purple, blue, black, red and gold spray on teal vinyl.
The Glampyre Zardoz Edition is available today (Friday February 17th 2017) at Noon PST for $85.00.
