Conspiracy theorists claim to have spotted an “alien soldier” on images returned from the Mars Curiosity Rover. Artist Andy Kurovets studied the infamous photograph, looking at figure lines, proportions, details and design 3d model. And based on that analysis, developed the sculpture based on the image called Martian Predator. Now, he’s looking for funding on Kickstarter in order to produce the figure in resin.
Fresh Monkey Fiction is proud to announce another Kickstarter campaign for their retro-inspired action figure line Amazing Heroes. The Amazing Heroes Wave 2 collection features a selection of creator owned characters: Mike Baron and Steve Rude’s Nexus, Mike Grell’s Jon Sable, a cosmic version of Michael Allred’s Madman, Dean Haspiel’s The Red Hook, Vito Delsante and Sean Izaakse’s Stray, Joe Staton and Nicola Cuti’s E-Man, Ray-Anthony Height’s Midnight Tiger, and Mark Verheiden’s The American. This will be the first time many of them will be available as action figures. Each retro-inspired Amazing Heroes figure stands 4.5″ tall and includes collector friendly interchangeable backer cards.
Artist Paula Cristina Rodriguez is currently working on a Kickstarter project to help launch her Quirky Cowfish plush keychain. Created by Squishables, the Quirky Cowfish plush keychain is based on a real fish found in both the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. This lovable plush is 4 inches long. You can currently grab one at the $10.00 funding level.
ESC-Toy has announced a new Kickstarter project bringing the beloved Oddworld characters Abe and Munch to plush form. Each character will be presented as a collectible plush with a sound-chip function. In addition to the plush, there are a limited edition items that are must haves Oddworld fans. Each plush is available at the $25.00 funding level, with the pair being available at the $45.00 level ($35.00 for early birds).
Jackie Ashley, founder and owner of Shlii Kawaii Toys, has announced the launch of her newest Kickstarter project, Boston Terrier Mermaid Cute Plush Toys. In 2013, Jackie created the Norfolk Merdogs line, which is made up of cute mermaid-dogs. Merboston was one of the three original merdog characters and is well-loved by fans young and old.
In January 2017, Jackie started working with her production company to create a highly detailed, professionally produced Merboston plush toy. Each plush measures ten inches tall, is made with soft Minky fabric, and features professionally embroidered details. Plush production is extremely expensive, so Merboston can only be produced with the help of crowdfunding.
Monsterdom is a premium wax pack sticker set and is limited to just 500 packs. An homage to classic monster trading cards from the 60’s and 70’s, Monsterdom features a variety of fantastically fiendish faces of aliens, monsters, ghouls and ghosts, as well as stories of their horrifying creation– all packaged in a vintage wax wrapper as only SideKick Lab can make. Vampires vs. Unicorns: Floor War is a hillariously fun throwing card game with unexpected results, featuring fantastic hand painted tile art by Travis Lampe and Travis Louie. Designed by Jim Dubois and Attaboy, based on an original concept by Dubois, they’ve taken the game to Kickstarter in order to raise funds to produce it.
RPG Jelly Plush is a Kickstarter project from the folks at Loading Crew Crafts. Currently, there are three plush characters unlocked – Kohath the Paladin, Nomura the Rogue, and Fanta the Mage. In the above photo, they are the yellow, blue and black plushies. The other two characters are unlocked at additional funding levels.
