H.R. (Bad Brains) Statuette

Press Pop has announced the H.R. (Bad Brains) Statuette, featuring the stylized likeness of the original hardcore punk band Bad Brains. Made with PVC and ABS, the statuette has articulation in the neck. The 9-inch tall piece features a t-shirt and pants that are made from actual fabric. This is a must-have for all Bad Brains and punk rock fans. Look for it to retail for $50.00.

Return of the Sectaurs

Zica Toys has announced that they’ll be reincarnating the Sectaurs line – extremely popular back in the mid-80’s. There are 10 figures planned for the first wave, which will likely be funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Wave one is set to include 8 main character from the original Coleco toy line, plus a pair of army builders. These will all be in 4-inch scale. The first two they’re showing off are Dargon and General Spidrax.

Being a fan of the line as a kid, I can’t wait to see them produced. The only thing is that we’ll need to wait until a Wave 2 to get any of the crazy insect hand puppet things.

Cloud Riders ‘Royalty’ Figures

Hashtag Comics will be attending Book Expo and BookCon at Javits Center (NYC) in June 2017 with the Exclusive Cloud Riders ‘Royalty’ 4-inch tall vinyl figures. Book 4 in the series, “Prince Gunda and the Thunder Runners” is set to release in June. And Hashtag Comics will be debuting the official collection of the first 4 books titled “Cloud Riders: Royalty” at the show. You’ll be able to pick up the stars of the four books at the show.

“The Rising” Apalala

Devil’s Head Productions has announced that the first painted run of Apalala sees the light of day. Using both the sapphire clear blue and GID/blue marbled vinyl as a base, metallic blue, red, green, gold, copper, black, white, red and tan paints have been applied to make some super awesome looking monsters. As a bonus, a single blood splattered chase was made on each base vinyl color to make someones order that much more special.

Infected Decapitated Bear Head: Blood Red Edition

Clutter Magazine has announced their latest collaboration with Milwaukee-based artist Scott Wilkowski and LA native artist Luke Chueh. Known for his Infected and X-Ray versions of popular designer toys, Wilkowski has infected Chueh’s signature bear head, once again creating a collaboration that is to die for. Huck Gee’s SKLFKR

Clutter Magazine has announce their latest project with artist Huck Gee. The SKLFKR is a 20 inch tall skull-laden mecha. As part of winning his prestigious 2015 Artist of the Year and 2015 Toy of the Year Designer Toy Awards, Huck was provided a sponsorship to work with 3D printing technology to bring to life a brand new creation.

Nominations Open for the 7th Annual Designer Toy Awards

The Designer Toy Awards have officially launched the nomination period for the 7th annual DTAs. Running from now until April 7th 2017 (6pm ET), nominations can be submitted through the above link. This year’s awards will accept nominations for releases, artists, and companies, that were active from January 1st 2016 to December 31st 2016.

If you’re thinking…didn’t we just have the 6th annual DTAs? Yes. But they’re moving the ceremony from New York Comic Con (usually in October/November) to May 19th 2017, during the weekend of Five Points Festival in NYC.
