Background
If you’ve followed Rocket World’s Insurgents Wilderness Gruppo line, you’re probably familiar with the IWG’s three most popular characters: Titus, Hannibal and Affonso. Artist Patrick Ma has put a new and unique spin on those three with the release of the IWG Movie Icons Series. Secret Agent Titus, Bullett Hannibal and Dirty Affonso are all based on characters from classic action films and bring some new sculpts to these classic IWG figures.
Secret Agent Titus is ultra-suave and a playbear with the ladies. He laughs at danger and takes on risky covert missions that no one else will. An excellent shot with his specially modified silenced Walther PPK, a master in hand-to-hand combat, expertly trained in espionage, intelligence gathering techniques, escape and evasion.
BULLETT Hannibal dislikes self-serving ambitious politicians. He is strong willed and gets the job done even it means breaking the rules and bucking the system. Calm and collected under fire, he handles difficult moments with a cool and reflective stoicism. All he needs is his wit, charm, and a .38 Special to get the bad guys.
"So...you got to ask yourself, do ya feel lucky punk? Well? Do YA?" If you're looking down the barrel of the most powerful handgun in the world and it belongs to Dirty Affonso, your luck has probably run out. Mess with the rhino and you're going to get the horns...or a .44 slug.

Our Opinion
The original three IWG characters have been re-imagined several times since their initial release many years ago. Now, they’ve taken on the personas from three classic action films: Secret Agent Titus (I’ll go with the overlooked Timothy Dalton as James Bond); Bullett Hannibal (Steve McQueen as Bullitt); Dirty Affonso (Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry).
With all new sculpts and a new look display base, how do these stack up against the originals? A lot of people probably won’t like the Terminator Skull display base…just because they don’t like displaying a toy on a base. The figures stand fine without the base, but they have rounded pads on the bottom of their feet, so they are more secure when using it.
These are all new sculpts, with Titus being the most dramatically changed. His arms are crossed and his gun has a modified trigger so it looks like he could pop off a shot at any moment. It also uses the new Titus face that made its first appearance a few years back. Affonso probably looks the most similar to his original sculpt. The most noticeable change is that his left hand is flat like his feet. Hannibal – like Titus – has a new look. His face isn’t cut off by a pronounced lip (like the original Hannibal and Titus), and his face and belly are now painted in a glossy black. (And he lost those pink nipples)
The quality on these figures has taken a step up from some of the smaller IWG figures. They are painted very well and have extremely detailed weapons. For example, the silencer comes off (Titus), the cylinder spins (Affonso) and Hannibal is sporting a great looking shoulder holster.
The entire series has given the cute IWG characters a little attitude. They all have furrowed eyebrows, deadly weapons and movie specific poses. But you don’t have to be a fan of the films. You don’t even have to have seen them. If you like Titus, Affonso or Hannibal…that’s good enough. I must say that these are the best figures that Rocket World has released since the original run hit over five years ago.
