NECA has announced that a themed action figure two-pack recreating one of the most famous boxing matches of all time will arrive in stores later this month. In 1978, legendary boxer Muhammad Ali proved that he truly was the Greatest of All Time by defeating the strongest man on Earth - Superman - in the pages of DC Comics’ historic Superman vs. Muhammad Ali issue. Far from a grudge match, this battle would ultimately set the two up to save the planet from an alien invasion, ending in the proclamation “WE are the greatest!”

Now, for the first time ever, that iconic team-up comes to action figure form in a stylized set that pays tribute to the late philanthropist, social activist and three-time World Heavyweight Champion who would have turned 75 this month. Created by NECA, in conjunction with Authentic Brands Group, the owner of the Muhammad Ali brand, the 7-inch scale figures have over 25 points of articulation and feature comic-stylized deco based on the issue’s spectacular cover art. The set comes in collectible window box packaging that recreates that famous bout, with Superman and Ali posed as they were on the iconic comic book cover.

The Superman vs. Muhammad Ali action figure set will be available at the end of January 2017.
