  1. Gamera vs. Gyaos! This was the first Japanese monster movie that I saw as a kid. The awesome way Gamera flies with the flames coming out of his shell has been a highlight of many daydreams over the years. Someday, all modern turtles will have this ability and we will be in big trouble. Until then, we can only make the daydreams.

  3. Day of the Triffids (I think I spelled that right?!)
But does Star Wars count? If so, how can you beat the monsters in Jabba's palace?

  5. I think The Host is my favorite monster movie in recent years. The initial scene where the monster shows up is amazing.

  7. "Clash Of The Titans" – Not strictly a "monster movie" but the best/most bad ass 80's stop motion/puppet extravaganza ever.

  9. tough call- i enjoy a ton of the kaiju films, even the super cheesy/completely stupid ones. i would have to say my favorites are rodan (favorite godzilla character) and space amoeba (solely for the inclusion of gezora).
