Indiegogo: Dthulhu Bath Sculpture

The folks from Studio Fabulous (Berlin, Germany) are currently raising funds to create their Dthulhu Bath Sculpture via Indiegogo. Fans of Lovecraft and/or Rubber Duckies will likely be interested in their plans for a vinyl sculpture that will look great in your bathroom and will creep out anyone who steps into your tub. In addition to the Dthulhu duck, funding levels can receive items such as a limited edition art poster, a downloadable 3-D rendered poster, a downloadable paper sculpture of Dthulhu, and a desktop image.

The Dthulhu vinyl (it will squeak) will be available beginning at the $20.00 plus shipping funding level. This is a flexible funding campaign, which means they'll receive all of the funds...even if they don't reach their funding goal.

Kickstarter: Calliope – short film by Circus Posterus

Circus Posterus has launched a new Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to produce an 8 to 10 minute long spooky stop-motion film named Calliope. The project brings together all-star creators from the world of designer toys (Circus Posterus’ toy designers Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters), stop-motion innovator and Annie Awards Special Achievement recipient Martin Meunier (Coraline) and filmmaker Jon Schnepp (The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened).

Based on Olivas’ classic toy character Calliope Jackalope, Calliope is a post-apocalyptic, fantasy adventure about an other-worldly girl who’s unaware that she’s actually Pestilence, one of the four horseman of the apocalypse. If funded through the now live Kickstarter campaign, Calliope will be written and co-directed by Meunier, Olivas and Peters, executive produced by Schnepp and feature artisans, animators, and fabricators that have worked on stop-motion features including The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Rewards available exclusively through the Calliope Kickstarter campaign include:

  • A 4-figure mini toy set, fabricated by Cardboard Spaceship Toys, based on the second installment from next year’s Olivas-Peters imagined Wandering Misfits mini series
  • A brand new vinyl toy figure, also from Cardboard Spaceship, based on Peters’ Night King
  • An exclusive color design of the ‘Bat with a Secret Past’ from Peters’ Stingy Jack’s universe
  • Olivas and soft sculpture/fine artist Lana Crooks’ micro-edition Calliope resin sculptures with fabric costuming
  • Peters-designed toys made in Japan by toy company Tomenosuke, hand airbrushed by Peters
  • A handmade talking Spirit Board which allows you to play an interactive role in the Calliope story through Divination
  • A new Oracle Deck, like the one Calliope uses in the story's haunting nod to American Spiritualism

The Calliope project will only be funded if at least $110,000 is pledged by .

Kickstarter: Creepy Hill – Bobby

Creepy Hill: Bobby is a Kickstarter campaign seeking to fund the production of the first pre-painted resin figure based on the whimsical world of creatures designed by CabbitQ and Dominic Qwek.

Bobby is the first creature of our Creepy Hill universe and we need your help to bring him to life! Bobby never made many friends due to his less than friendly looks. He dreamed of having many friends to play with but sadly, that never happened. His village banished him and he was cast into the dark forest. One day, Bobby stumbled upon a hill with a lone tree and decided to call it home. A safe haven for outcasts like himself. A place where all is welcomed. A place known as Creepy Hill.

The painted Bobby resin plus an art print are available at the $145.00 funding level. An unpainted version can be had for $95.00. And there is a Red Skull Edition available in the $300.00 bundle.

The project has already met its funding goal and will be funded on .

Indiegogo: Dan Goodsell’s Irresponsibility Card Game

Dan Goodsell, of Mr Toast fame, is looking to raise funds to get his Irresponsibility card game produced. This family friendly card game for 2-4 players will see players taking turns either helping Mr Toast be irresponsible by playing fun Recreation cards or by saddling your opponents with Responsibility cards to keep Mr Toast from having fun. The game will feature plenty of Mr Toast's friends and contains lots of fun artwork.

It's currently available to back at Indiegogo. It's a Flexible Funding campaign, but that is somewhat moot because the goal has been doubled with several weeks left to raise funds. The plan is to get games shipped by February 2016. And the Irresponsibility card game is available at the $10.00 funding level (Early Bird - then $12.00).

One other aspect of the campaign is that Dan's Irresponsibility game is one of 5 finalists in Hasbro's Great Game Contest. Chosen from over 500 games, Irresponsibility is now vying with 4 other games to be the Grand Prize winner. The winner receives $10,000 and a trip to Hasbro headquarters for advice, mentoring and assistance. The success of this campaign will help Hasbro determine who wins the contest.

Kickstarter: Erick Scarecrow x Hato Moa – Hatoful Boyfriend Plush

Erick Scarecrow (ESC-Toy) is currently working on a new Kickstarter project that will be raising funds to produce a series of plush toys from the Japanese game Hatoful Boyfriend. So...what is Hatoful Boyfriend? It's a "Japanese pigeon dating sim game series, originally created by Hato Moa as an April fool's joke in 2011. The story stands out from other games in the genre by combing a unique setting, twisted sense of humor, and extremely satirical elements. Because of this Hatoful Boyfriend built a dedicated fan base and quickly grew from a practical joke into a franchise that has now been brought to Windows, OSX, Linux, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita. Hatoful Boyfriend is a text-based visual novel where almost all characters except the player are birds."

Funding levels include a trio of 5-inch Hatoful Boyfriend plush toys (RYOUTA, OKOSAN, SHUU) at the $25.00 plus shipping level. There will also be a pair of exclusive plush (100 pieces each) available at the $75.00 level. And, finally, the complete set, which also includes a print of your favorite character and a 12-inch SHUU, available at the $1,000.00 level and limited to only 10 pieces.

The project has already reached its goal and will be funded on .
