Background
Onell Design recently released the newest character from their Glyos System series line…Crayboth. The new mini figure is available in 10 different colorways, being sold in 5 separate two packs. The character joins Exellis and Pheyden as the first three designs made available, but what do we know about the Crayboth?
Inhabitants of the Sporian Planet Alcray, the creatures collectively known as the Crayboth use their energy disrupting abilities and advanced psychic communication to protect themselves from off world invaders.
Packaging
The Crayboth are sold as a set of two figures. They are packed in the same box, one on top of the other. The box has a window front with a pullout plastic tray. Each pair is packaged with a photo card of the series and small pamphlet that details the character.
The Figures
Each Crayboth figure is 1 ½” in height and has 4 points of articulation
(legs and arms). They are made of injection molded PVC plastic, so the
Crayboth are solid little pieces. The arms and legs can be removed and
switched with any of the characters in the Glyos System series.
For purposes of our review, we are looking at Crayboth Pack 2 (Marauder
and Clear Blue Crayboth) and Pack 5 (Red Aura and Green Aura
Crayboth). The two aura figures glow in the dark…and it’s a pretty
bright glow.
Our Opinion
The Glyos System series is one of our favorite lines out there. Being
a child of the 80’s, they definitely give off the retro vibe I love.
They’ll drum up memories of M.U.S.C.L.E. wrestling figures or the
ever-popular Battle Beasts line.
The Crayboth figures are slightly smaller than Pheyden and Excellis,
but they still have that sci-fi feel to them. And Onell Design has
produced enough various colorways (GID, clears and solids) to appease
collectors.
