On Sunday, May 12th 2013, Tenacious Toys will be teaming up with designer Teru Fujita to release a limited edition series of "mechanical, electrified 3-inch Android figures". Limited to only 8 custom Androids, they will run $200.00 each.
Push a small button on the back, however, and the head of the Android lifts up smoothly to reveal a painted face and light-up LED eyes.
The mechanical parts inside Teru's Androids engage a switch to turn on the LEDs as the head lifts up. The lifting mechanism is spring-loaded, so the head comes back down and the LEDs turn off as your finger lifts off the button.
