Background
A couple of years back, Medicom released one of their Real Action Heroes based on Matthew Fox’s character – Jack Shephard – from the hit ABC show LOST. Unfortunately, we’ve seen our last episode of LOST, with this being the sixth and final season of the show.
The series that made being stranded on a deserted island chic (sorry Survivor) might not have answered all of your questions…but they’ve definitely not released enough collectibles based on the television show. Unfortunately, Medicom’s version of Dr. Jack Shephard (distributed by Sideshow Collectibles) is the lone 1/6 scale LOST figure released to date.

Our Opinion
Something happened between Seasons 2 and 3 of LOST where I just stopped watching it. I’m not sure why. I enjoyed the show. I think it was just that so many questions kept being raised and nothing was being answered. Well, I recently got back into the show and have watched the first five seasons in a month (thank you Netflix). So please don’t go and ruin the end for me.
It’s too bad that only a few toy companies picked up the LOST license. Medicom has this lone RAH. McFarlane did a few series of their “action” figures based on various characters. (And action is in quotes because they don’t actually move) Finally, Bif Bang Pow! has a promising retro line coming this summer.
So let’s take a closer look at Medicom’s Jack Shephard RAH. The first thing I noticed is that the sculpt “sorta” looks like Matthew Fox. It actually looks like Jack Shephard, if he was in a Japanese anime. Five years ago, Medicom was at the forefront of 1/6 scale figures. Recently, they’ve been surpassed by companies like Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys. While it's not a bad sculpt, it's hard to compare the sculpting work with those two companies.
The other issue I have is the lack of accessories. If you’re paying close to $100 for a toy, you probably want at least a few related accessories (even if it’s just a gun). With Sideshow's G.I. Joe line, you get well over 25 individual accessories per figure.
With all that being said…would I pony up $100 for this figure? Probably. But that’s because I’m a huge LOST fan. If you’ve never seen the show, you’d probably wonder why anyone would want a toy version of that guy from Party of Five in a generic black suit.

I have this too 😀
How do you take off the jacket. And, are you supposed to?
I don’t see why you couldn’t take off the jacket. I was able to pop off the hands, move the arms backwards and take off the jacket.
Thanks
Yeah I was able to take it off. Took a while though 😛
