Background
To date, Patch Together and Miss Monster (aka Melita Curphy) have teamed up on a trio of resin figures based on her uniquely designed monster characters. The latest release is the Tentatiger.
Tentatigers are chimera like beasts with grumpy personalities. Their snake tails are actually quite friendly though. A great friend for your Foo Dog toy!
The Facts
Tentatiger

The figure comes packaged in what has become the standard Patch Together box. It’s a plain white box with a sticker placed on the front. The sticker is a Danger warning with artwork by Miss Monster. Inside, the resin figure is packaged disassembled between two pieces of Styrofoam.
Our Opinion
Patch Together ships the Tentatiger resin figure in about 11 pieces. While the tentacles on the figure’s head are actually numbered (and go in specific spots), they have a certain position that makes them look correct.
Also, the tail needs to be glued into place. The figure comes packaged with a tube of super glue. Be careful! The glue is a liquid and flows easily. Before you know it, you’re hands will be stuck together with a Tentatiger glued to your pants. I did an okay job gluing the tail into place, but you can definitely see excess glue. A bad thing about this…your figure will no longer fit in the pre-cut Styrofoam tray. So bye, bye packaging.
The design and paintwork on this figure is by far superior to the previously released Foo Dog resin. There aren’t errant paint splotches around the mouth, which plagued that piece. Also, the resin used isn’t heavy and solid, so it almost gives the feel of an ABS plastic toy rather than a statue.
So it really comes down to whether or not you like the character. I like this one the best out of the three designs Miss Monster has submitted. And even though there are a number of comments on Patch Together’s own website detailing issues with broken toes, I’ve found that this is one of their better produced resin pieces.
**Upon further examination, some of the back toenails do appear to have been broken and glued back on. It's not noticeable, and I wouldn't have noticed unless for specifically examining them.**

This figure is really cool (I know, because I own one). But there really are no points of articulation.
I actually had to SUPER-glue on ALLof the tentacles AND the tail because they would not stay on by themselves, and they are not articulated (unfortunately).
Either way… I don’t regret buying it. It’s very cool 🙂
