The Hive Gallery in downtown Los Angeles will be hosting Feminality, a unique exhibition showcasing more than twenty of the most talented female artists of this generation. On Saturday, November 21st (1PM to 10PM), the exhibition’s benefit VIP event will include live painting by Tara McPherson (who will be creating a floor to ceiling mural) and Elizabeth Siegel (TofuSquirrel) along with live model painting by Georgette Pressler from Devious Body Art.
Feminality is the creation of graphic artist and Wizard Sleeve Toys founder, Mike Franco. For the launch of Feminality, Franco was determined to have McPherson participate. Franco plans on bringing the show around the country, with the next show slated to coincide with Art Basel Miami (December 3rd-6th) and a third show already in the works for February 2010 (venue will be somewhere in NYC).
The Feminality exhibit is on display for the entire month of November. Admission is $10, with all of the art created for the show available for purchase by the public. Part of the exhibition proceeds will benefit Hands Up Not Handouts, an organization that mentors women of the world in the design and production of unique, one-of-a-kind goods.
