Background

Rocket USA and artist Gus Fink recently released one of Gus’ Boogily Head characters as a plush. The SkullGnome plush was first unveiled at NY Comic Con 2008. The Creepy Yard Gnome was a part of Boogily Heads Series 2. And now collectors (and fans) of Fink’s various lines of unique characters can pick up the SkullGnome plush in two sizes.

Tag

The tag doesn’t have many details other than the characters’ name and a website. But you get a great little illustration of the SkullGnome character on the tombstone shaped tag.

Our Opinion

SkullGnome is in my top five favorite Gus Fink characters. (It’ll be tough to beat Pumpkin Billy) And I feel that the plush represents the illustrated version better than the Boogily Head.

The plush has a red heart sewn to its stomach. (I guess he didn’t want to wear his heart on his sleeve) The facial details and scar on the chest are all embroidered. He also sports X’s on his hands (a la the Straight Edge Superstar).

Rocket USA has again went with the beanbag bottom for this plush. And even though this doesn't really affect the “cuddle-ability”, it allows collectors to easily display the plush SkullGnome alongside the Boogily Head version. They also chose to include a removable hood, which didn’t need to be done…but is a great addition. I actually like it without the hood. But either way…it’s my favorite Gus Fink plush to hit shelves.

These should be available at Hot Topic and might make their way to your local comic shops with an MSRP of $19.99 and $9.99.
