Background
2008 was really the year of the superhero film. And one of the biggest blockbuster movies released was Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.
Hot Toys acquired the license to produce figures based on the Marvel Comic superhero. One of their most popular lines is their Mini Cosbaby figure format. So, it only seems fitting that Hot Toys released a line of six versions of Tony Stark/Iron Man in Cosbaby form.

Packaging
Each figure comes in the same Iron Man themed blind box. Some shops might open up the package to identify the figure for you. The figure inside is then kept in a clear plastic bag. The six different figures are all pictured on the sides of the box, so you have an idea as to which characters are available.

The Figures
The Iron Man Cosbaby line consists of 6 different characters, all of them various iterations of Tony Stark. Each figure stands approximately 3” in height and has about 9 points of articulation (neck, shoulders, wrists, legs, and ankles).

All of the Cosbaby figures come straight from the Iron Man movie: Tony Stark (Mark I); Iron Man (Mark I); Iron Man (Mark 3); Tony Stark; Iron Man (Mark 2); Tony Stark (Mark 3). As far as accessories, only the Tony Stark figure comes with one (a small Iron Man mask).

Our Opinion
I’ve yet to see Iron Man. But it’s on my list of films to see before the end of the year. Just looking at the 1:6 scale Iron Man figures that Hot Toys released makes me want to check out the movie.
So, what about the Cosbaby line? Each little figure has a stylized look to it. And while they use the same face sculpt for all of the human-based Cosbabys, they’ve given Tony Stark a unique hairdo and facial hair pattern.

It would have been nice to see some accessories, but the sculpting work on the outfits is so detailed (and Iron Man doesn’t really use a weapon) that it’s easily overlooked.
When choosing my favorites of the line, I have to go with the Mark I figures. There’s that steampunk look to them, but there also is more detailed sculpting than the sleek Mark 2 and Mark 3 Cosbabys.
