was never a dull moment during last Thursday's opening of Spread the
Lead at New York's gallery hanahou, where a buzzing crowd enjoyed 32
artists' take on graphite and tried to imagine a world without color.
In addition to the artwork, the pencils used to create the pieces were
also on display, along with books filled with the artists' thoughts on
this compelling show concept.
participating artists made an appearance at the opening: Robbie
Guertin, Sara Singh, Kenzo Minami, Kirsten Ulve, Olimpia Zagnoli, Yuri
Birdfish, Felix-Gabriel Smith, Kana Togashi, and Erotic Dragon (who
came all the way from Tokyo!) If you missed the opening, stop by gallery hanahou through November 20 to
see Spread the Lead for yourself. (Mon-Fri noon-7 pm, Sat by appt only) All of the pieces from the show are also now available for viewing and purchase via galleryhanahou.com.
