REVIEW: New Pheyden and Exellis Colorways
Onell Design has released several new Pheyden and Exellis colorway designs from their Glyos System series. Among the characters that we’ll be looking at are the Eclipse Pheyden, Cosmic Wave Pheyden and Andromeda Pheyden (all pictured above). We’ll also be taking a peek at the new Pulse Pheyden (purple and pink) and the Empire Exellis (black and white).
Each figure comes individually packaged in a small rectangular box. The piece is secured in a plastic tray and visible through the plastic window front. Also included in the box is a short informational comic and a card containing several Glyos System characters.
Both Exellis and Pheyden stand approximately 2.75” tall and have 12
points of articulation. You can take the figure apart, as all of those
joints pop out. This will allow you to swap parts between Glyos System
figures (as well as Crayboth and Beantown Toys’ Spoon Racers).
The figures are made out of injection molded PVC plastic. They’re
really for adults or kids, as they’ve been made to be pretty durable.
And if you were wondering, the white sections on the Andromeda Pheyden
figure are all glow-in-the-dark.
Onell Design continues to offer new colorways of their Pheyden and
Exellis characters. Matt Doughty, the lead designer, continues to
assemble some great color combinations (and we can’t wait for some of
the new character designs). And the fun part about the Glyos System
series is that they are all interchangeable. So, if you don’t like
what they’ve done…you can create your own combination.
And this is one of the few lines that really take us back to the 80’s,
when little figures like these were a part of most kids’ toy box. That
might be why I’m personally impatient and can’t wait to see the
multitude of characters we’ve gotten a sneak peek at through the Onell
