RRParksCARDS has announced his (Richard Parks) latest series of collectible cards. There's currently a Kickstarter Project to fund the production of the official Sharknado Trading Card Series. In cooperation with The SYFY Channel and The Asylum, the project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Friday, August 31st 2018 at 11PM ET (it's already surpassed that goal).
This is the first series and it features Sharknado and Sharknado 2 (series two will feature Sharknado 3 and Sharknado 4 and series three will feature Sharknado 5 and Sharknado 6). There are TWO base sets in this series - the first base set is a 90-card set of Sharknado and the second is a 90-card set of Sharknado 2. And there's a special "Bloody Subset" featuring gooey, nasty scenes of sharkish mayhem (with a special coating so the blood shimmers when cards are held at a light source). Also, there will be a 3D anaglyph 18 card subset, 4 Faux Film Cell cards, 4 different Genuine Movie-Used Costume Prop Relic Cards, 12 Full Metal Box Topper Cads produced by Faerie Metal, 9 Limited Edition Special Commission Portrait Cards with Puzzle Backs, Printing Plate Cards, Sketch Cards, and rare Progressive Proof cards.
There are various funding levels available, but the first one - where you get everything - is at the $160.00 level.
As I say with all Kickstarter projects I post about. Remember...this is not a pre-order. There are many instances of crowd funded projects that have been funded never making good on their promised goods. So back all Kickstarters with caution. (I've backed several RRParksCARDS Kickstarters and have received everything with little/no delays).
Thanks for posting this Sharknado pitch. And yes indeed … I’ve been on the pledging end of some projects that either didn’t get done (and I lost my money) or they didn’t get done for nearly 2 years AFTER they stated they’d be done. Naturally when I say “well, that never happens with MY Kickstarters” it’s still only my word. But i can say this … Sharknado trading cards is my 17th Kickstarter, all 17 have been successfully funded, all 17 saw ALL backers (except a few who never replied to my requests for a mailing address) ALL get their swag. Of the 17 campaigns I was on time for most, early for many, and only 2 ran a couple/few weeks later than figured. And what backers seem to like best is that I keep updating before, during, and after so everyone always knows through every step ‘behind the scenes’ just what’s going on. Right now the majority of the material is at licensing undergoing the approval process … as is my next card series, MST3K Series Two (and it’s HUGE!) … if all goes as planned, Sharknado will have the bulk of material sent to the printing company in about 15-18 working days. And my print broker is Karen ‘Wonder Woman’ Cowan (if you follow sketch card artists on Face Book she’s friends with about 90% of them … and all those mutual friends of hers and sketch card artists and me will all vouch for the fact that I always keep my word).
I post that disclaimer for all Kickstarter projects.
But, like I said, I’ve backed a number of RRParksCARDS Kickstarter projects and I have only great things to say. Just the right amount of communication (without trying to sell other things, like a lot of Kickstarters do) so the backers are always kept in the loop. And every project I’ve backed has met or exceeded my expectations. That’s why I’m backing this one and will back the MST3K Series 2.
Great job Richard!
