Background

Before San Diego Comic Con, we were teased that the exclusive Uglydoll plush would be named Uglycorn. There was a Little Ugly version exclusive to Toy Tokyo, and that photo did leak out. However, the Pretty Ugly SDCC Uglycorn switched up the colors by reversing the wing and body colors from the Toy Tokyo version.

Uglycorns are a super rare breed. They may not even really exist, that's how unlikely it is that you'll actually see one! Uh yeah but YOU saw one. So you know they're real. How will you convince everyone else? Why bother. They're still hung up on UFOs and all that other real stuff. Instead, focus your attention on Uglycorn's love for taking long strolls through alternate dimensions and temporal portals! Man those are awesome. Or playing outside is fine.

Tag

The Uglycorn tag features the illustrated character in what appears to be a full sprint (maybe attempting to fly?). Inside, there's the printed background story that we provided above.

Our Opinion

As San Diego Comic Con teasers and information began to leak, I had heard that the Pretty Ugly booth would have the new Uglycorn. My thinking, not seeing any photos of the plush, was that the character might resemble an ear of corn. Right? uglyCORN? I didn't really equate Uglycorn to being more of a unicorn. But the horn coming out of its head sort of looks like a piece of corn.

While the Uglycorn plush has been said to be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive, it might be showing up at other conventions that feature the Uglydoll booth. (*ahem* NYCC?) Essentially, it uses the same body shape as the Uglydog plush and adds wings and a horn. And, of course, the colors have all been changed.

OVERALL: I'll admit that I'm not as fond of Uglycorn as some of the new (or upcoming) Uglydoll designs. It's probably because I just like the new characters, and since Uglycorn closely resembles Uglydog, it wasn't shockingly new. With that being said...it still a fun Uglydoll. And it's a limited edition convention exclusive, which means you won't be able to pick these up just anywhere.

You can pick one up at the following:

Uglycorn isn't available online (maybe ebay), but you should be able to pick one up at NYCC.
