One of the big San Diego Comic Con releases happened at the Uglydoll booth, where Sun-Min and David released their Glow-in-the-Dark Ice-Bat Action Figure line. Consisting of six different colors, this blind box line is all Ice-Bat…all the time.

Ice-Bat lives in an ice box. Everything he touches turns to ice. Yet he warms your heart? Something like that, but one this is for sure....he can glow in the dark!

Packaging

The blind-boxed figures can either be purchased individually or as a case of six. If you buy the case, you’re assured of all six different colors. The blind boxes are well designed, with illustrations of Ice-Bat in his various shades. Also, there’s the David Horvath humor speckled around if you read closely.

Our Opinion

It’s to no one’s surprise that the most popular Uglydoll character still is Ice-Bat. Several years after his introduction, and the chilly little chiroptera is still going strong. So it made sense for the Uglydoll folks to expand their Action Figure line by adding six new GID versions of the character.

The two key areas I want to focus on are packaging and the quality of the glow-in-the-dark. I like that they’ve taken the guesswork out of collecting a full set. You buy a case of 6…you get all 6. There are no ratios…no chase figures.

The GID quality is above average. While my photos didn’t show any real difference between the various vinyl figures…you can tell when looking with the naked eye. The orange and purple really stand apart from the other four. In photos, the blue, clear, yellow and green all came out looking like your everyday yellow GID figure. Without the camera, they faintly glow in the shade of the vinyl. The orange and purple figures…you can’t miss.
