Our Opinion

My wife and I found the most excellent cupcake shop in downtown Raleigh (where we live). I really wanted to take some photos of the Miss Cupcake figure next to real cupcakes…but the edible things don’t last that long around my house. There was definitely a striking resemblance between the faux and genuine confections.

So I only had one issue with the Miss Cupcake figures – the cherry stem. On two of the four figures, the stem had been broken off. This could have been because the boxes were already opened to identify which colorways were inside. But I would definitely warn you against picking the figure up by that stem.

I feel that a blind box series should be priced around 75% of what the figure would run if you could actually choose the version you wanted. Blind boxing a figure makes you purchase more of them so that you can get the one(s) you want. And while I can see paying $12 for a Miss Cupcake - if I knew which version I was buying – I think the blind box figure should retail around $8.

With that being said…these are all so very cute. All of the designs are great, which doesn’t always happen with a blind box series. The designs are fairly close to each other, with colors, eye positioning and mouth styles changing. But these are some of the cutest vinyl figures that I’ve seen in a long time.

Quality-wise (notwithstanding the above issue), the sculpt really works and the paint is fairly tight. They used pad printing around the cupcake base and the cherry has been painted. You can’t go wrong with any of the designs, so I’d suggest picking up at least one of these…or maybe a baker’s dozen?

You can pick one up at the following:

Dragatomi: $11.99 ea.

3DRetro: $11.50 ea.
