Background

DynomightNYC – the same folks who released the Bumrush rotocast vinyl figure – have teamed up with The Sucklord on their Cthulhu Juice Crew series. The first figure in the series – DuckSauce – was limited to only 35 figures over various colorways.

JBat and J-ROO – DynomightNYC’s terrible twosome – worked up an amazing Plastic and Plush Exclusive DuckSauce colorway just for us. One of one.

Oh…if you’re wondering what the whole Cthulhu Juice Crew means or is about…read on:

They were not composed altogether of flesh and blood. They had shape...but that shape was not made of matter. When the Beats were right, They could plunge from world to world through the sky; but when the Beats were wrong, They could not live. But although They no longer lived, They would never really die. They kick it on their stone stoops in Their great city among the stars, preserved by the spells of mighty B-boy stances for a glorious resurrection when the Beats and the earth might once more be ready for Them.

The figure comes bagged and carded on a really colorful (and numbered) card back. The background info from above is printed on the back (as well as illustrations of the crew) and there is a great pixilated drawing of the character when you unfold the card.

Our Opinion

The DuckSauce figure has been sold out for a while now. So, it wouldn’t make much sense for you to rant about how you should pick one these up. But it appears that there will be several other characters released, and they might be somewhat similar to this piece.

If you’ve ever purchased one of the Sucklord’s figures, you know that these are all handmade resin pieces that have no articulation. They’re essentially a mash-up of old action figures with possibly some new sculpts here and there. It’s pretty obvious that the head is that of the Kenner’s Return of the Jedi Squid Head figure.

This is probably my favorite of The Sucklord’s creations. A hip-hop Cthulhu? All 80’s style? I love how it looks like DuckSauce is wearing an old 1980’s jumpsuit with a pair of Adidas kicks. John and Justin from DynomightNYC killed it with the paintwork (and the paint scheme). I’d vote the Plastic and Plush exclusive as the best…but I’m somewhat biased.

Be sure to notice that the green sections almost have a semi-translucent look to them. And there's one thing to look out for. The tips of those wings are sharp, so I'd keep these away from the kiddos. Even though it looks like an action figure, this is 100% display only (in my opinion).

Look for more figures from DynomightNYC's Cthulhu Juice Crew to be released. The DuckSauce run went for $35 each. And you have to remember that they are 100% handmade.
