Background
With the preview of the 2009 line of Uglydolls, folks were bound to choose a favorite…or two. The first character from David and Sun-Min – Trunko - was released to Ugly collectors (Uglydoll collectors, that is) in February.
Packaging
You might find Trunko in a clear plastic bag, but in all likelihood, this Uglydoll will be free to roam. Like all Uglys, he has a tag with an illustration as well as the background information reprinted above.
The Figure
The regular Trunko plush stands approximately 14” in height. The bright purple Uglydoll has rounded ears, a red nose, yellow teeth, horizontal arms, and feet that resemble Little Bony’s hands. As with most Uglys, Trunko is available in classic, two foot, little and keychain sizes.
Our Opinion
David, Sun-Min and all of the folks behind Uglydolls have released one of the strongest lineups of Uglys that we’ve seen in years. And Trunko is just the beginning of a full twelve months of releases.
The Trunko plush is a bright shade of purple, so it might be a little more appealing to female collectors. But I’m comfortable in my manliness to say that I like the color. And the character is classic Ugly cute.
The quality is the traditional Pretty Ugly ‘top of the line’ plush. It really comes down to whether you like this new character and color. While it’s not our favorite of the 2009 line (like I said…it’s a very solid lineup), Trunko’s a great addition to your ever-growing Uglydoll collection.
