Background
2009 has brought fans and collectors a whole new array of Uglydoll plushies. And the second of David and Sun-Min’s designs for the new year has actually been released in a pair of color versions. So, we introduce you to Fea Bea – the Ugly Stick.
Packaging
Both versions of the Fea Bea Uglydoll have the above background story printed on their tags. With two different color plushies, each version has it’s own illustrated tag.
The Figure
Fea Bea – the Ugly Stick – is approximately 14” in height (the classic Ugly) and available in two different colors - Yellow or Blue. It’s the first Uglydoll since Uglydog that has had an initial release featuring two different color versions. The plush dropped with a Yellow and a Blue colorway. The Yellow Fea Bea features blue eyes and pink teeth, while the Blue Fea Bea features pink eyes and yellow teeth. So both versions use the same three colors, just in different places.
And like all Uglydolls, Fea Bea can be picked up in 2-Foot, Classic, Little and Keychain sizes.
Our Opinion
For being Ugly Sticks, it looks like these guys could drop a few pounds around the midsection. And I know there have been some folks who have compared Fea Bea’s shape to a specific glass smoking apparatus. But c'mon...he’s just an out of shape Ugly Stick!
So why does an Ugly Stick have a big belly? I'm guessing that Ugly Sticks might have a rather large appetite.
But the real question that I pose is which color version do you like better? Blue or Yellow? I seem to favor the Yellow Fea Bea, and it’s probably because we have yet to see an Uglydoll in such a vibrant yellow. But I can't fault you if you've chosen the Blue Fea Bea...he's pretty cool as well.
