Background

Last year, Swedish raised and New York based designer Daniel Svanberg introduced us to his Spök-Spök label.  With a number of plush characters, Daniel launched us into his colorful world.

One of the first characters we were introduced to was Toofhairy.  Toofhairy is – not so surprisingly – a hairy tooth.  The character was one of the more popular of the line, and they recently released a 3” tall Toofhairy Mini clip-on plush.

Packaging

Nada.  It has a tag that’s the same as the previously released larger line of figures.

The Figure

The Toofhairy Mini plush is approximately 3” in height and features a black plastic clip to attach to your backpack or belt loop.  The mini is designed the same as the larger, original plush and made of super soft velour. There is one difference.  Rather than having the eyes, mouth and hearts embroidered onto the plush, the Toofhairy Mini appears to use iron-on transfers.

This plush is limited to a run of 1,000 pieces, with one out of twenty being a pink variant.

Our Opinion

The Toofhairy character is my personal favorite of the Spök-Spök line of plushies.  The original plush was soft, cute and one of my favorite releases of 2007.  And the Toofhairy Mini is a great reproduction of that original.

The one we received had a little discoloration where the plastic clip attaches to the plush.  The iron-on details are fine for a plush of this size, and it makes sense since they wanted to keep the price point around $6.

While I would still suggest you go out and pick up the original Toofhairy, this is a great complement that fans of the Spök-Spök line will want to have adorning their backpacks.

You can pick one up at the following:
