Background
The online retailer uRabbit has introduced their first designer vinyl piece – Icy Bunny. The piece is a collaboration with artist Husky Kevin, and will probably have you dreaming of soft-serve ice cream for the next week or so.
This magical bunny from Husky Kingdom is known as the maker of the best tasting ice cream in all the land. This excitable rabbit needs to learn to control her emotions as she usually ends up hot in the ears, which ends up melting the ice cream she carries on his head. The Icy Bunny is not only cute, there's a moral to her story.
Packaging
The packaging has a windowpane in the front in an outline of the Icy Bunny character. There are plenty of drawings on the box…so many that it might take a few looks before you’ve discovered all of the artwork. There’s a funny little story on the back and the piece is secured in interlocking plastic trays.
The Figure
The Icy Bunny rotocast vinyl figure stands approximately 7” in height and has one point of articulation (the neck). It comes packaged with removable pink bunny slippers - Ironic - as well as some surprises inside of its' head.
The soft-serve looking head is removable and hides a set of bunny ears (in the shape of a heart) and a pair of little ice cream cones. It also has the word Yummy sculpted into the back of its head.
There is actually an all white version of this figure also available. This version, however, is limited to a run of 500 pieces.
Our Opinion
When it comes to displaying figures, you often go through the dilemma of having to choose which accessories to have on, how to position it, etc. For the Icy Bunny, I decided to go with the soft-serve head and without the bunny slippers.
Here’s my reasoning: I like both the soft-serve and the bunny ear looks (my wife prefers the heart ears), but I can also remove the soft-serve head at any time. The slippers are somewhat difficult to keep on, and quality-wise, don’t line up with the rest of the figure. So I’ll opt for the barefoot look.
So, what’s my overall opinion? A cute character. Fun Concept. Kids will definitely love it. Fairly high quality for being uRabbit’s first go at a vinyl piece.
