Background

As most folks know, Sun-Min Kim’s most popular character is the cake-eating arachnid – Spider Boom.  She is the spider of all spiders...Spider-Boom becomes pregnant at the drop of a cake.  Eat some cherry cake?  Have a Cherry Boom baby.  Eat a choco-pie?  Have a Choco Boom baby!  From canvas to skateboard to Circus Punk to Trexi and Dunny, this itsy bitsy spider isn’t so itsy anymore.

Toy2R has released 3 different sized Spider-Boom plushies for collectors of all ages.

Packaging

There is none to speak of, since the line is plush.  The 16” and 8” plushies do have tags with a graphical Spider-Boom story.

The Figure

Spider-Boom currently comes in three sizes: 16”, 8” and a 4” plush
keychain.  Each plush has 3 eyes, 6 legs and a bunch of hair.  She even
has a hairy back…ick!  The 16” and 8” plush are similar, however, the
4” keychain has a special surprise.  You pull the hook, which is
attached to a string, and Spider-Boom shakes like crazy.  I think
that’s why her eyes are closed…so funny!

Our Opinion

Sun-Min is the queen of the plush world (just check out the Uglydolls),
and these plushies are definitely of superior quality.  It’s a great
job from Toy2R, a company that is most well known for their vinyl Qee
figures.  It’s also their first attempt at producing a plush line.

Toy2R’s 16” Spider-Boom is an imposing figure.  Since the 8” is just a
miniaturized version of the larger, it’s basically up to the collector
as to which size they’d prefer.  Personally, I think the larger…the
better.

With that being said we love the 4” Spider-Boom keychain.  You pull the
plastic keychain hook (the string pulls about 6”) and then she shakes
like crazy.  I was a little surprised that it vibrated, as it just
looks like a smaller version of the 8” plush – with closed eyes.  But I'm sure kids and adults alike will enjoy the hidden feature.
