The 3 newest Uglydolls – Big Toe, Toodee and Uglyworm – were all released about a month apart. Even though Uglyworm was supposed to see the light of day in April, several have made their way to collectors and retailers.
David Horvath and Sun-Min really put on a show at International Toy Fair, displaying the entire 2007 line of Uglydoll characters. Not only are they expecting their first child, but the couple has been hard at work on a number of new and exciting projects.
Want to learn about the characters? We did complete write up of the new Uglydoll bios in our Toy Fair coverage.
Uglydolls don’t come in a package…they need air to breathe. They do have an identity tag, which gives you all sorts of details about the character.
Like most Uglydolls…Big Toe, Toodee and Uglyworm are available in 4
different sizes: 4” (keychain), 7” (Little Ugly), 14” (Regular), 24”
All of the colors are new, as we haven’t seen any of these shades
before. Uglyworm brings back the hair that they have been missing
since Target moved into the retirement home.
Big Toe became my newest favorite Ugly…until Uglyworm was released.
Now, I’m just confused. Who do I like best? Do I need to have a
favorite? Why can’t they all be equals?
One thing you have to like is the new, brighter colors that David and
Sun-Min have chosen for these characters. Also, each character brings
something a little different. Toodee has 3 teeth…I couldn’t track down
another Uglydoll who only has 3 chicklets. Not since Jeero have we
seen a nose like the one on Big Toe. And where should we start with
Uglyworm? I mean, he doesn’t even have any feet! But he does have a nice combover...I can't wait until I get to do that!
