Ningyoushi’s mascot – Joe – was made available in toy form last year. He quickly sold old. Ningyoushi then combined their mascot with the work of Kozik and Obey and came up with the Smokin’ Joe figure.
Smokin’ Joe is decked out in his smoking rabbit outfit, carrying an Obey sign. The figure is designed by Kozik, while the sign, which attaches to either hand, is all Obey. The back of the box has some nice artwork done by Kozik.
The figure and sign are both made of vinyl. The cigarette is inserted
into a hole in the figure’s head. I had a slight problem getting it to
fit at first. Similarly, the sign is attached to Joe’s hand (you can actually see the hole).
The special, camouflage edition is limited to 200 figures at $28 each, and only
available through Ningyoushi or their Double Punch San Francisco retail
store.
