Kristen Rask (Schmancy Toys) will be releasing a new book entitled Yummy Crochet. The kit features twelve deliciously cute projects, and includes materials for two projects: Campy Corn on the Cob and Zesty Oranges. Look for this to retail around $22.95 (you should be able to pick one up at B&N)
Yummy Crochet comes with:
• Embroidery floss, needle, and crochet hook
• Stuffing, 3 colors of yarn, and beads for eyes
• Projects themed for every meal!
• 68-page full-color instruction book
Also, Kristen is holding a contest here, where you can win a copy of the book.
Regarding “Yummy crochet”. The instructions for the cup cake are not actuate, specially the Glaze. There are no instructions for attaching parts and where to put stuffing.I expected more from this kit.
I have completed three of the Yummy Crochet projects: donut, cupcake, and corn. The instructions were fairly easy to follow with these exceptions:
Adjustable ring: I had to look this up on YouTube to be able to figure this out. The directions were totally different than the book.
Cupcake: The instructions were incomplete with nothing on how to put the pieces together.
This kit seems to be packaged to attract new and beginner crocheters (?), therefore, the instructions need to be more specific or the packaging needs to make clear that this kit is not for beginners. It seems that the author assumed anyone reading her book already knew the basics.
