REVIEW: Uglydolls – Brip
The new year has brought us a bundle of new Uglydoll characters. David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim were busy at work in 2010 for all of these new 2011 designs. One of the recent Uglydoll releases is a little guy named Brip.
Brip works down at the local coffee cake shop. He serves thousands of pies and cakes each and everyday, yet he’s not once taken a bite for himself! Not one taste! So we’re hoping you would be OK with showing him around your much larger world. Brip needs to be shown how wonderful the world really is, and what happens when genius enters the picture. That obviously you, right? Hello?

When you see that green tag, you know that you're looking at an Uglydoll. That same story that's reprinted above is also featured on the inside of the tag. And there's an illustrated version of Brip...just standing around, hanging out.
Brip is an interesting blue/green plush shade. He has two Uglydolls eyes with an X for a nose. Unfortunately for Brip, he's not showing any teeth...but he does have a bright pink tongue hanging out. The overall body reminds me a little of the original Ugly – Wage. Blip has long arms, a pair of long ears and short stubby legs.
I really like the color choice for the Brip plush. It's something we've not seen. Also not seen is the X for a nose. I'm sure it's difficult to come up with 12 or so new Uglydoll characters a year and not be repetitive. But kudos to David and Sun-Min for throwing some new designs at collectors.
OVERALL: If you're an Uglydoll collector, it's quite possible that you've already picked up a Brip. I think at year's end, I will have him ranked in the top half of the 2011 Uglydolls.
