Mezco Toyz has announced that they will be teaming up with Toys"R"Us to offer two exclusive figures from their NBC television series Heroes line: Fire Rescue Claire (Hayden Panettiere) and
Times Square Teleportation Hiro (Masi Oka).
Fire-Rescue Claire features the Texas teenager in her iconic
cheerleader outfit from the scene where she rescues a fireman and risks
revealing her powers. The figure boasts over 9 points of articulation
and comes complete with a miniature reproduction painting by award-winning artist Tim Sale depicting the dramatic rescue scene.
Times Square Teleportation Hiro features the Japanese office drone in
the iconic scene where he teleports to New York's legendary Times
Square in front of the famous Toys"R"Us flagship store. Hiro comes
complete with an alternate head, his ever present messenger bag, a
Times Square backdrop, and his highly detailed sword of Takezo Kensei.
Mezco has revealed their Heroes line of 7" tall action figures. The characters from the hit NBC show are being set in plastic. Series One features Mohinder Suresh the inquisitive scientist, Claire Bennet the cheerleader
with incredible recuperative powers, Peter Petrelli the most powerful of the heroes, Hiro Nakamura the programmer
with the ability to bend time and space and Sylar the villainous power
For all of the children of the 80's, the Mezco booth conjured up memories of Cyndi Lauper singing Goonies 'R' Good Enough. Probably because of The Goonies toys. The company ws showing off it's action figure line from the 1985 hit movie...proving the adage - better late than never. The first series includes Sloth, Chunk, Mouth, Mikey and Data. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they do an Anne Ramsey action figure. O...sweet ol' Mama Fratelli!

Ahh yes...It feels like yesterday that we saw the initial prototypes of The Goonies action figure line at Toy Fair '07. It was actually about four months ago. Lucky for us, Mezco has posted the painted prototypes of everyone's favorite gang of misfits. If you grew up in the 80's, you definitely know the names: Mikey, Data, Sloth, Chunk and Mouth. (Well...Mikey isn't all that unique.) The line will be released this summer and loaded with accessories from the movie.
Halloween...there couldn’t be a more appropriate night to debut the
first-ever Living Dead Dolls Art Show. The internationally anticipated
show premieres October 31, 2006 at New York's famous designer toy
gallery - The Showroom NYC. Previously, all Living Dead Dolls have been
designed by Ed Long, Damien Glonek and Michael "Mez" Markowitz; this
upcoming art show invites over 100 artists to design, interpret and
explore their own dark vision of the Living Dead Dolls.
Invited artists have been selected from numerous fields and
disciplines, the list is a veritable Who's Who of notoriety and talent;
Ed, Damien & Mez creating one-of-a-kind originals, other
contributing artists include: Michael Dougherty, artist and screen
writer on Superman Returns and X Men 2; comic book legend Simon Bisley;
gothic artist and musician Voltaire; toy development power house Inu
Art Studios; Oblongs TV show creator and artist Angus Oblong; famous
Japanese designer Hiddy; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle writer, creator
and artist Kevin Eastman and many more.
Mezco Toyz will have this exclusive 12" tall Deluxe Evil Monkey from everyone's favorite Fox cartoon - Family Guy. He is flocked and fully articulated! Make sure this Evil Monkey isn't living in your closet...
People have been anticipating the Voodooz plush line of toys from Mezco for a while now. It appears that they have set a tentative date of April/May 2006. I am a fan of this line as I own a handmade version of Uchawi (formerly known as Stitch). The line was created by everyone's favorite horror toy creator - John Pinkerton. The characters in Series 1 include Uchawi (pictured above), Ezili, Baka and Kennis.
