Rivet Gallery presents the Remedy Group Show

Rivet Gallery presents the group show - Remedy. Taking thematic inspiration from the need to find cures for disease this group art exhibition will focus on art inspired by the theme. And 25% of all exhibition sales will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to assist in their research into discovering cures for breast cancer. The opening takes place on Saturday October 2nd 2010 from 7PM until 10PM.

Owner/curator Laura Kuenzli had this to say about the show:

This particular exhibition has a very personal connection to me as I am a breast cancer survivor, being diagnosed less than a week after signing the lease for Rivet. In its own way, I'd like this exhibition to help in a small way to further fund the research that played such a role in my own treatment as it has in countless other lives.

The amazing Jouwe customs continue to roll in. This time, we get a shot of MeSmithy's custom piece. It has little bit of an ancient Egyptian vibe to the piece...and I'm digging those horns that were added to the sculpt.

R. Crumb’s Heroes of the Blues

Alexander Wood of Wildwood Serigraphs and The Official R.Crumb Site is pleased to announce that the long production process on the new Heroes of the Blues serigraph by Robert Crumb is now complete. The 150 print edition has been released and is available for $380.00 plus shipping ($12 in US and $35 international).

The edition is printed on Rives BFK archival 100% cotton cream paper. The sheets are 22" x 30", with an image size of 16.5" wide x 25" tall. There are 15 colors (16 screens) used to print this edition.

Splurrt has released two new Splugs (I feel like I'm writing in some alien language). Both the Green Splug and the Fireball Splug resin figures are currently available for $35.00 a pop. Now's you chance, because these are super limited.

NYCC Exclusive Travis Louie Art Hustle Card

Sidekick Lab is teaming up with Tenacious Toys to release a very special NYCC Exclusive Travis Louie Art Hustle Card at the Tenacious Toys booth during New York Comic Con 2010.

The Travis Louie card is not available in the regular Art Hustle packs, so it is one of the rarest and most sought-after cards from the series. The foil seal designating this card as an NYCC Exclusive has been stamped onto 180 Travis Louie cards. These special cards will ONLY be available at the Tenacious Toys booth at NYCC, and one will be given free to each customer purchasing an Art Hustle pack for $3.50 from the Tenacious Toys booth during NYCC.

The Sidekick Lab people will be on hand at the Tenacious Toys booth during the day on Friday, as well as Sunday October 10th at 1PM for a signing session.

Cpassek of Gangtoyz has customized a pair of Munnys as well as two Trikkys. All of the customs are hand-painted - Posca markers, spray paint and varnish. These are named (in order of shown) Bad Brain Munny, Mutagen-S Munny, Blue Battle Trikky and SoulPop Trikky.

New Nakanari Custom and T-shirt

Nakanari has a few new projects in development. First up is his custom Spiki Rhino Ranger for upcoming Jouwe Custom Show taking place at Arty Farty Gallery in Cologne, Germany.

He's also designed a new t-shirt for Akufuncture, which will be a part of this winter's collection. The design uses his Spiki character and Taiwan's General Chiang Kai-Shek. The t-shirt will only be available through Akufuncture's website in sizes S - XL.

Kaiju Big Battel Presents: Save the Kaiju!

Kaiju Big Battel will bring their live monster mayhem to Warsaw on Friday, October 15th, 2010 (starting at 7PM) as part of Royal Flush Magazine’s annual art, film and rock & roll festival. Get ready for action when the Heroic fighters of Kaiju take on the evil monsters of Dr. Cube’s posse!

Kaiju Big Battel Presents: Save the Kaiju! This telethon style "fundraiser" will be a night of space bug slams and city crushing action! All for a good cause. 33 Monsters, 6 matches, 1 epic night. Tickets are available for $18 in advance or $20 on the day of the show.

Fare Thee Well at Giant Robot

Giant Robot is proud to host Fare Thee Well, a joint show featuring new work by Oakland and San Francisco-based artists Deth P. Sun and Ferris Plock.

An opening reception for Sun and Plock will take place from 6:30PM - 10:00PM on Saturday, October 2nd 2010. If you can't make it to the opening, the show will run through November 3rd 2010.
