The Azeroth Flight Master's Association is pleased to announce that two of the world's most popular and luxurious modes of transportation just got a little plusher.

Straight from the uber-popular video game - World of Warcraft - to your collection come the Wind Rider Cub and Gryphon Hatchling. Blizzard Entertainment has released this pair of plush creatures as a part of a new line of cuddly, plush WoW creatures exclusive to their online shop.

Tag

Both pets come packaged within a black drawstring bag. The characters name and World of Warcraft logo is on one side, while the alliance symbol is on the reverse.

Each plush toy comes with a tag that features an illustrated version of the character as well as a code that gets you a matching account-bound non-combat companion to travel alongside you in the game. Because these creatures are too young to care about Horde and Alliance politics, they'll tag along with you no matter what faction you're on.

Our Opinion

I have to start out by admitting that I have never played World of Warcraft. Yes...I might be one of a dozen people around the world who hasn't. I guess that would give me a rather unbiased opinion of these plush WoW pets.

Wind Rider Cub
This Wind Rider Cub appears to be a combination of a lion and a vampire (with a little scorpion tail). The plush has polyester wings attached to the bottom of its arms, as well as faux fur hair and beard (and little tufts of its ears).

Gryphon Hatchling
The Gryphon Hatchling is a baby griffin - body of a lion, head of an eagle and wings of a dragon. The wings are not only attached to its back, but they're also anchored to the back of the plush's head. Its also sporting a faux fur tail.

Both plush WoW pets feature an embroidered shield attached to a ribbon around their neck. The pads on their paws and eyes are also embroidered, while the claws are pieces of felt. The overall quality is average - you have a few errant strings here and there. But the characters are super cute.

Overall, I like what Blizzard is doing with this plush line. We've seen the connection between plush toys and an online universe before with other (mostly pre-teen targeted) toy lines. But Blizzard is taking the most popular multiplayer online video game and linking them up with a line of plush (and in-game companion) pets. So which of these two would you want tagging around your WoW character?
