was never a dull moment during last Thursday's opening of Spread the
Lead at New York's gallery hanahou, where a buzzing crowd enjoyed 32
artists' take on graphite and tried to imagine a world without color.
In addition to the artwork, the pencils used to create the pieces were
also on display, along with books filled with the artists' thoughts on
this compelling show concept.

Guertin, Sara Singh, Kenzo Minami, Kirsten Ulve, Olimpia Zagnoli, Yuri
Birdfish, Felix-Gabriel Smith, Kana Togashi, and Erotic Dragon (who
