Dokugan GID Blue

Hmm...this looks familiar!  It might be because we showed you the green version of the GID Dokugan a few days ago.  This Tokyocube exclusive version of the BLObPUS produced kaiju vinyl is limited to a run of 25 pieces.   I actually prefer this colorway.  Either way, it'll run you the same as the green version - $74 (plus S&H).

The Comedian 1:6 Scale Figure

Another of the DC Direct 1:6 scale Watchmen figures is everyone's favorite funnyman...The Comedian.  Was he really that funny?   Not sure...but he was definitely is one gruff looking dude.  Look for this figure to be released on February 4, 2009 and retail around $125.

Rorschach 1:6 Scale Figure

I just finished reading Watchmen...and I already think I might need to read it again.  And with the upcoming release of the film (March 2009), DC Direct has released some images of their upcoming 1:6 scale Rorschach figure.  It actually looks like it will be a must-have for fans of the graphic novel (or film).  Look for this piece to be released on March 11, 2009 and run about $100.

Head Games Dress Candy

Gallery Hanahou presents Head Games Dress Candy, a collaborative exhibit of sculpture and jewelry
by Sara Singh and Arlene Guerra.  Fashion illustrator Sara Singh and jewelry designer and creator of P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) Arlene Guerra are ushering in New York Fashion Week this September with a joint exhibit of sculpture and jewelry that plays with concepts of innocence and character.

With silhouettes of male and female busts carved from plywood, Singh comments on the vanity and secrecy of the surfaces we present to each other. Complementing Singh's organic sculptures is Guerra's new collection of exaggerated, candy-colored jewelry, which blurs the line between the dress-up games of children and the adult dress-up game called fashion.

The opening reception, sponsored by Svedka Vodka and Lure, takes place on September 3rd from 6PM until 9PM.  RSVP: to attend.  The show runs from September 3rd until October 7th.
