Background

Undoboy’s first venture into the designer toy world is the Super Bastard line of paper toys.  The line was inspired by old ‘mix and match’ books he would peruse through as a youth.  The toys do their best to combine pop culture icons and imaginary characters like Uncle Sam, Saddam Hussein, a clown, Mother Teresa and George W. Bush.

Packaging

The line is blind boxed…so you are essentially getting a paper toy inside of a paper box.  The packaging has drawings of the characters you might find inside, which is helpful when purchasing a blind boxed line.

The Figure

Each Super Bastard toy is made with card stock and matte lamination.
They are fairly sturdy and would take a decent amount of pressure to be
crushed.  The line consists of 16 unique toys, with 4 characters on
each side of the rectangular box.

The Super Bastard line is a limited edition with only 1,000 copies of
each toy out there. You can take off the characters' heads and pants…to
reveal their inner most secrets (sometimes downright dirty secrets).
They are being distributed by DKE Toys and set to retail around $5.95
each

Our Opinion

A number of people have, or will, say…why pay for a paper toy?  There
are plenty of free toy designs that you can print out from your home
computer.  I liken it to the radio market nowadays.  You can choose
from terrestrial radio or satellite radio.  You can turn on any radio
in your house and listen to music for free, however satellite gives you
a commercial-free experience for a nominal monthly fee.

Including pop culture characters from the 80’s always is a plus for
me.  However, there are some depictions that might be offensive to some
younger collectors.   There are also some polarizing characters that
people might object to becoming toys (Hitler, Bin Laden, etc.).

I like how a number of the figures have different skulls, depending on who the character is.  Also, you do not visible, fraying edges like you do on some mass produced paper toys.  Look for the line to be released on September 1st and to retail around $5.95 apiece.
