2009 NYCC: Foox

IMG_7164

We got our first up-close look at the Organ Donors by Foox.  We saw the initial illustrations last San Diego Comic Con, and it looks like this series is going to be killer.  It's all produced by ESC-Toy and features a number of different designs and colorways.

This will definitely be a line that collectors will enjoy - especially the story behind them.  We're not sure if they'll be blind-boxed or how the figures will be released, but we'll give you more details as they are released.

2009 NYCC: Tonner Doll Co.

IMG_7082

Tonner Doll Co. was out in full force at this year's NY Comic Con. They had a number of their new DC Stars figures on display, including the Green Lantern (above), Catwoman and Hawkwoman. I want to point out the sculpted fists that the Green Lantern is sporting. I believe that's a first for the DC Stars TCFs.

Also being shown off were the duo (Bella and Edward) from the Twilight film, Michael Sc...err...Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) from the Get Smart movie license, the Dick Tracy TCF and a new Mimzy plush that has sewn on arms (for kids) rather than the articulated ones.

From the Harry Potter line, several upcoming Tonner Character Figures, including the amazingly detailed Professor Dumbledore, Bellatrix Lestrange and the recently released Luna Lovegood at Hogwarts, were available for collectors to ogle over.  And as expected, the NYCC Exclusive Lara Croft piece was in hot demand.

2009 NYCC: Uglydolls

IMG_7060

The Uglydoll booth was one of the first to greet you as you made your way through the NY Comic Con doors. David Horvath was there to sign your Uglydolls...books...your high school yearbook. Only if you guys went to high school together.

One of the big draws were the release of the all new Uglydoll Action Figure line of rotocast toys. I opened one up, got a Wedgehead, and I must say...you'll be surprised by the quality of the line. The other item collectors were after was the Hidden Poe.

2009 NYCC: Onell Design

IMG_7105

Onell Design was sharing a NY Comic Con booth with Rocket North and Raw Shark Studios.  They had a number of new Buildman Ranic, Pheyden, Exellis, Phanost and Sarvos figures spread across their table...enough to make one drool.

Rocket North had two exclusives - Apocalypse Sarvos and Apocalypse Phanost - that came with an extra body and head. And Raw Shark Studios had their Red Guardian Pheyden exclusive for sale. All of them were rocking the red and black color combos.

2009 NYCC: ESC-Toy

IMG_7189

Erick Scarecrow had a bunch of new releases and exclusives - as well as a few surprises - at the ESC-Toy NYCC booth. The above pictured Stone Shiitake was one of the standouts.  Only 50 of them were released and the resin pieces were all hand painted.

The Medusa Black Mamba and Muraida Magma figures were also on display.  And we got our first look at the Headbanger resin piece.  They'll be super limited and released later this year.  And one of our personal favorites - Soopa Maria Sato - was shown off in five different colorways.
