MattyCollector has dropped these photos of the first carded samples of the upcoming Count Marzo Masters of the Universe Classics figure. Who is Count Marzo? Good question...I never saw this guy before. But, apparently, he was in the 80's cartoon - although though a Count Marzo action figure was never produced. Until now.
Mattel has announced that collectors of their Masters of the Universe Classics line will finally be able to get an Orko figure. Available in an SDCC Exclusive Version (with color-change feature) and the standard version, Orko will include a magic wand, stand and magic book. The SDCC Exclusive turns clear in warm water (except his face and "O"). And both versions include possibly the best accessory yet - Prince Adam. He'll have an angry and smirk face sculpt, purple Power Sword and Half Power Sword. They'll be available for $25 each.
Mattel has announced that they'll be releasing this Masters of the Universe Mo-Larr vs Skeletor figure set at San Diego Comic Con. "Mo-Larr was featured in the famous (infamous?) episode featured on the DVD release of Robot Chicken Season 2 where he chased down Skeletor and relieved him of an impacted wisdom tooth, sans numbing agent."
Skeletor features a new head - with a missing front tooth - his Havok Staff, Power Sword, and Half Power Sword. Mo-Larr (Eternian Dentist) comes with five assorted dental tools, including @#%## drill and floss. You can pick up the set for $40 - a must-have.
One of my favorite cartoons as a child was The Real Ghostbusters. So, to say that I was excited when Mattel announced a Retro-Action The Real Ghostbusters Peter Venkman SDCC Exclusive...would be an understatement. This will be an exclusive variant version of the regular Venkman (to be released this fall) straight from Episode 11 "Citizen Ghost".
While the pictured figure is the regular version, the SDCC exclusive will have clear green skin (he was possessed in the episode). The figure also has a sound chip in it that will speak four lines of dialog from the show. You'll be able to pick this figure up for $20.
MattyCollector.com will be releasing another new Masters of the Universe Classics figure on May 17, 2010. Tytus, the Heroic Giant Warlord, will tower over the other MOTU Classic figures. He stands in at 12" and will run twice the normal figure (these will be $40 each). Each Tytus figure will include removable armor and Warrior Smasher.
The Club Eternia Monthly Figure for May 2010 will be Optikk - the Space Mutant Spy for Skeletor. He'll be made available on May 17, 2010 at noon EST (be prepared to get seriously pissed off at MattyCollector.com - I always do). The $20 figure comes with a pair of accessories - Photon Neutralizer and Mutant Shield.
MattyCollector.com will be releasing their Moss Man Masters of the Universe Classics figure on Monday March 15th 2010. This figure comes with nature mace, removable vine sling with stone knife, and, of course, flocking and an evergreen scent guaranteed to take you back. (Collector Note: it is not the identical scent as the vintage toy, but we came as close as possible within today's manufacturing standards.) Moss Man also comes with an alternative 2002-inspired head designed by the Four Horsemen.
They'll actually be releasing two versions of the figure - one with flocked ears (small quantity) and one with unflocked ears. Each one will run $20.
MattyCollector.com will be re-releasing the Stratos Masters of the Universe Classics figure on Monday March 15th 2010. This figure is identical to the one released in 2009, but the packaging now includes a burst with “the original,” a nod to his 1984 legacy. Stratos comes with a removable jet pack, so be sure to get yours before the feathered friend of He-Man takes flight once again. Available for $20 each.
If you were lucky enough to grab one of the Masters of the Universe Club Eternia spots through MattyCollector.com, then you can expect to get the Wun-Dar figure automatically shipped to you. Otherwise, you might just have to search ebay for one of these. Even though he sort of looks like He-Man with Zodac's chest plate, Wun-Dar includes possibly the most interesting accessory of the line - the Eternian Baked Good.
MattyCollector.com has announced that they will have a special sale on Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 starting at 12 Noon EST (9AM PST) to release another limited run of Skeletor, Evil Lord of Destruction figures. If you missed out of the December 15th offering of the Masters of the Universe Classics toy (they sold out fast) - here's your chance to snag one.
