Here's something fairly interesting from Funko. From their Vinyl Invaders line comes the 11" tall Batman Robot. It's done in a style that's very similar to the Shogun toys of old. I'm not sure where I stand on this...I guess it all depends on pricing (not available yet). Look for this figure to hit shelves on April 12th 2012.
Funko has announced their newest license - Yo Gabba Gabba. On May 15th 2012, they'll be releasing a series of 3.75" tall vinyl POP! figures based on the Nick Jr. television show. You'll be able to purchase DJ Lance Rock, Brobee, Foofa, Toodee, Muno and Plex.
Funko has announced the lineup that will make up the NBA Series 1 POP! vinyl figures. These will be made in association with Mindstyle (I'm guessing they already have the NBA license) and will start shipping in late April 2012.
Series 1 will consist of:
Jeremy Lin, Lebron James, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Pau Gasol, Rajon Rondo, Kevin Love, Lamarcus Aldridge, and Derrick Rose
Check out the newest Pop! vinyl from Funko's Pop! Movies series. This 3.75" tall vinyl Leatherface comes to you from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Hmm...not sure about turning a psychopathic murderer into a cute little stylized vinyl.
Funko has announced two new additions to their Pop! stylized vinyl figure series. V from V For Vendetta and the Martian from Mars Attacks will be joining the other 3.75" tall Pop! figures. Fans of Guy Fawkes (or Anonymous) will want to pick up one of these...just don't play Slim Whitman's "Indian Love Call" around that Martian.
Here's some big news for fans of Uglydolls. Pretty Ugly will be teaming up with Funko to release some of their most popular characters in Funko's Pop! Vinyl stylized figure line. We'll see Wage, Ox, Ninja Batty Shogun, Little Babo and Ice-Bat released in this platform.
I think that Uglydoll fans will really enjoy these. I like how the characters resemble baby Uglydolls. They are to Uglydolls what Muppet Babies were to The Muppets.
Funko knows that you like breakfast cereal....that's why they'll be releasing a series of branded General Mills Monster Cereal BLOX. The line will consist of three iconic characters: Boo Berry, Franken Berry, and Count Chocula. These will be released beginning on January 2nd 2012.
Funko will be adding a few new series to their BLOX line. BLOX are described as "Urban Art with distinctive cut-out styling and sculpted details, which are displayed in a mostly flat way." The figures stand in around 7" in height.
The DC Comics BLOX will include both Batman and The Joker (with those crazy, hypnotizing eyes). There will also be a KISS BLOX featuring The Demon (Gene Simmons). Both series will be available beginning on December 19th 2011.
Funko will be releasing their Big Bang Theory Wacky Wobblers on November 10th 2011. It appears that only Sheldon and Howard will be released in Wacky Wobbler style. The odd thing is that Sheldon is wearing a Green Lantern shirt on the box and The Flash shirt on the bobble head. I'm pleasantly surprised by the sculpting on these…normally bobble heads don't have the best sculpting work.
It's never too early to begin thinking about Christmas...right? Well, Funko agrees with me. They are showing off photos of their upcoming Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Pop! Series. The 3.75" tall vinyl figures will be available beginning on November 10th 2011. Get your Santa Claus, Rudolph and Bumble ready for your holiday television watching.
