Sarah Miskelly aka Miskellaneous has introduced another of her handmade custom plushies. Misk Monster is now for sale for £35 (which includes postage in the UK). If you live elsewhere, it'll run you £40. Check out that grill.
Meet the first of many Misk Monsters. They are stitched entirely by hand and measure 50cm x 50cm. Miskellaneous is taking on monster commissions at the moment, so you have a chance to design your own. Each Monster costs £50 (due to size and amount of work involved) and are available by emailing Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spooky Daddy's new website is now up and functional. There's a custom, gallery and store section where you can find Mr. Tum Tum and friends. And the first 10 people who sign up for the Spooky Daddy mailing list will get a free bag of spooky goodies delivered by your postal worker to your mailbox or mail slot.
The first set of Spok-spok plushies are ready to be released upon the public. The Spok-spok and Spokelina figures are 11” tall, they have magnets in their hands, and come packed in a cotton bag. Look for them to retail around $20. This is the first release from Spok-spok creator Daniel Svanberg. In a couple of months, two more plush characters from the Spok-spok universe will be released. Wholesale inquiries should be directed to DKE Toys.
Daniel Svanberg is currently working on his first vinyl toy, and his next solo show which will take place at Monkeyhouse in LA in February.
Sok-O came about as a happy accident in 2006. Three
designers Angie Wang, Marcela Rojas and Caleb Perng on a trip to Asia
and discovered the wonderful creation of Daniel. Each Sok-O is 100% handmade,
created by one sock or a pair of sock, and produced in limited runs. So no two are alike.
Mariska Vos-Bolman sent us word of her handmade plush Fluffels. Here's how she describes the line:
I'm a plush designer and creator from the Netherlands. My plush toys are called Fluffels. I've started creating them last year. And I have a lot of fun creating them. Fluffels are silly monsters, all a bit crazy but adorable and very huggable. Most of them can be used as pillows as well, because they are quite big. My newest addition is the Zombie bear. I made him a while ago for a competition, I won the competition and got a lot of responses on my creation. A lot of people asked me to make more, so I did and added it last week.
We often get emails from folks showing off their custom creations. The above plush pieces were sent in by Raz Liebreich, who recently graduated with a degree in industrial design.
My final project at the academy was dolls that have all kind of secrets
inside them that deal with energy, function, material and more.
So what kind of grade do you give Raz?
Bytedust's latest plush figure is the CLOUD-X.2 plush. This is the follow up edition of the handmade CLOUD-X.1 plush and limited to 175 pieces.
CLOUD-X.2 is an environmentally conscious cuddle cloud that struggles with the bad human influences on the earth and environment. The red sign on the clouds chest (the place where the heart belongs) stands for toxicity and pain.
Steff Bomb has sent us word of her two newly created handmade monsters: Yeti & Sasquatch
