Argonaut Resins and artist Clinton Yaws have teamed up to bring you the first Kings Of Atlantis OG Resin Skull Customs ever. Not many of these skulls were released in the original series a few years ago and there have been requests from new collectors for another run. Clinton Yaws brings his exciting paint style and dynamic concepts to adorn the first 3 pieces in this new release of regular clear tinted and glow in the dark customs.
Those three pieces are the red clear tint Easy Rider, the Blue Ringed Octopus painted over a plain clear tint, and the Dead Scrolls blue clear tint that glows in the dark. These new customs will be available to own in the Argonaut Resins online store today (Friday February 27th 2015) at Noon ET.
On Saturday February 28th 2015 at Noon ET, Tenacious Toys will be releasing their Tenacious Toys' Exclusive Blue Inner Child vinyl figure. Designed by Nerviswr3k and produced by Suburban Vinyl, the 4-inch tall vinyl will be limited to a run of only 125 pieces in this exclusive color. Each piece will retail for $45.00.
Vinyl Sugar has officially announced the Vinyl Vixens line, a "brand new collection full of dreamy intrigue". These statues stand on removable bases at over 9-inches in height. The DC Vixens shown here (Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy) are only the first in a variety of different series from different licenses that will be announced throughout the year. Look for them to start hitting retailers in March 2015.
Toy Art Gallery will have two new releases available later today (Wednesday February 25th 2015) at Noon PST. The new version of Kenth Toy Works’ Nadsat Boy (pictured above) is cast in yellow and black marbled vinyl. The Yellow/Black Marble Nadsat Boy stands 7 inches tall, has a removable cane, and retails for $45.00.
Also, they'll have a limited amount of Secret Base and Three Tide Tattoo’s newest Karakasa Tattoo Man. The Netsuke Karakasa is cast in brown vinyl, with a black rub to replicate a wooden texture. It stands 7 inches tall and retails for $65.00.
The Sea Ghostwas first seen in Jay Piscopo’sThe Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli. Created by Piscopo, who both authored and illustrated the comic, The Sea Ghost was last seen in his very own comic book - The Sea Ghost #1: Sea Ghost in the Machine. The 36-page comic retails for $3.99 at your favorite comic shop.
In addition to his return in The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli – Volume 3, which will be released in March 2015, The Sea Ghost is now available as a Mego-style action figure. That 8-inch tall action figure runs $20.00 and comes packaged in a plastic clamshell case. (Unfortunately…I wasn’t able to get a photo of that case before I ripped into it with my canine teeth).
The action figure is a good representation of The Sea Ghost character as shown in the comic book. He is a little bit limited by the Mego-ish body (I so dislike Mego wrists). For example, his feet resemble hooves in the comic, but the figure has regular human feet…albeit bleached white feet. Oh…and that white body is slightly visible underneath the stretched bodysuit. Thank goodness his name isn’t Anatomically Correct Sea Ghost.
I was going to comment on the color of Sea Ghost’s face…and by writing this, I obviously am commenting on it. While it looks blue-green on the action figure – a lot greener than seen throughout the comic book - it actually does match up with the version of The Sea Ghost as presented on the rear of The Sea Ghost #1 comic.
When I heard about (and then saw) The Sea Ghost character, my first thoughts were that this guy is the bastard son of Star Wars’ Expanded Universe character Grand Admiral Thrawn. The blue face? Dead giveaway. He was obviously raised by Aquaman, who allowed his adopted son to glide through the 1990’s watching episodes of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. Or…at least…that’s how I saw it in my mind.
The Space Ghost is the 14th Mego-style action figure produced by Nemo Publishing/Nemo Toys. It joins a number of toys from the Commander X series. Unlike several of those, The Sea Ghost doesn’t have any weapons. Apparently, premature greying combined with a badass seahorse logo are the only super powers this guy needs.
The Sea Ghost Manufacturer: Nemo Toys Artist: Jay Piscopo Sculpted by: Paul "Dr Mego" Clarke Material: Plastic Mego-style action figure Dimensions: 8” tall Outfit: Black and white bodysuit Pricing: $20.00
To celebrate the 21st anniversary of Mike Mignola's legendary Hellboy character, Dark Horse Comics and Rogue Ales have collaborated to create the Right Hand Of Doom Red Ale, a limited edition beer that will be available online beginning on February 22nd 2015.
“Rogue Ales approached us with the idea of creating a heavy-handed, supernatural red ale and we loved the idea of two independent, Portland based companies coming together to create something new that would be both fun for fans and worthy of the Mike Mignola’s creative legacy” said Mike Richardson, President of Dark Horse.
My question...why a Red Ale? When I think Hellboy...I think a chili infused beer.
