Mama: A Cryptozoological Study of Maternal Behavior.

Toymaker Vickangaroo has taken to Kickstarter to raise funds to create a soft, fiber sculpture that is between 12 to 15 feet long and between 3 to 4 feet tall (made entirely of fabric and polyester-fiber filling). The funding drive for Mama: A Cryptozoological Study of Maternal Behavior will end on Tuesday October 2nd 2012 at 8:11PM ET. (It's already reached its goal)

And, as with other Kickstarter projects, there will be rewards at the different funding levels...they include screenprints and plenty of plush toys (Mama's babies).

RCrumb Zap No1

Robert Crumb has re-released his Zap Comix No.1 Giclee. The cover, originally printed in 1968, was released as a full color serigraph in 1992...although Crumb wasn't happy with the final colors. This 17" x 24" (14" x 18.5" image) version comes in an edition of 300 prints - Somerset Velvet 255 gram archival stock...if you were wondering. You can pick up the print for $80.00.

LDD’s Universal Monsters Frankenstein and the Bride

Mezco LDD Frank Set

Mezco has unveiled their Living Dead Dolls Presents Universal Monsters Frankenstein and the Bride. Each 10-inch figure has 5 points of articulation, wears real cloth clothing, and comes individually packaged. The set ships in late January 2013, but is available to pre-order via the above link for $64.00.

Mr death inside

RX Doll 1

RX has announced that his “Mr death inside" resin figures have been completed. There are only 5 unique pieces available. Each Mr death is hand painted and comes with customized clothing. While RX says that there are some figures available, I wasn't able to find them on his shop. It might be best to email the artist via the above link.

3A + Real Steel + Noisy Boy

Noisy Boy's been announced that 3A Toys is going to continue producing toys from their Real Steel license (Ambush has been released and Midas was available to pre-order). I have the Ambush figure and despite a few issues with a piece not being glued in properly, the thing is amazingly detailed.

The next robot will be Noisy Boy. If you've seen the film (I've seen it about 50 times because my son is obsessed with Real Steel), you know just how complex this character will be to produce in an ultra-realistic manner. It has LEDs on its wrists. I've included a photo above from Hollywood Movies Costumes & Props that gives you a good idea of the life-sized version of Noisy Boy.

So here's the thing...if 3A can make this figure a near perfect replica of its on-screen version...Toy of the Year.

5 Second Rule

Freeny Orange Push Pop

Jason Freeny has released a photo of one of his newest piece - "5 Second Rule". This Giant Orange Sherbet Push-Up Pop obviously has hit the floor...but it's not that often that a toy/sculpture/art piece sets off hunger cravings like this one does.
