REVIEW: Uglydoll – Uglybot
What do you get with you combine Uglydolls and robots together? Well, Uglybot – of course. Uglybot is one of the newest plush creations from Sun-Min + David and released by Pretty Ugly. Oh, and did I mention that Uglybots come in two colors?
Uglybots are here to serve you. How may I help you? May I fetch your morning beverage? Need me to do your job for you? Oh could I please complete more menial tasks for you? How about I take out the trash...I don’t mind...hey at least I get to take a 2 minute walk down to the curb and get away from it all for a second or two...need somebody to talk to? Join the club pal!
Uh oh...It would seem even robots aren’t made to be robots. What Uglybot really needs is a friend. Hey and who doesn’t. Well this friend will never turn his back on you, never turn over your diary to the press, and while he may blink 12:00 from time to time, you’ll never need to upgrade his love.

This is the 2010 Uglydoll that I've been waiting for. You combine Uglydolls with robots...what's not to like? Well, unless you're either scared of Uglydolls or robots. It makes sense that Pretty Ugly went with two color versions on Uglybot, as it's bound to be a popular character.
Upon first seeing photos of the two Uglybot color variants, I had thought the Blue version would be my favorite. But I really like how the green teeth look against the Black body. Though anything black in a house full of dogs will do nothing but attract hair.
The plush features oval feet, claw hands with a 90 degree angle elbow, and a triangle affixed to the top of its head. The face includes a pair of circular eyes and four rounded teeth that point downwards. The Blue Uglybot features red eyes and green teeth, while the Black Uglybot sports white eyes and green teeth.
OVERALL: If I could only pick up one Uglydoll this year, I'd have to make it one of the Uglybots. It's a different direction from David + Sun-Min, since the majority of recent Uglydoll releases have been animal-like characters. But they combined an Uglydoll with a robot. What's better than that?
