REVIEW: Deglingos – Jambonos
A few months back, Geared For Imagination revealed that a new character would be joining the Deglingos line. Jambonos – a pig – was added to a lineup full of various animals.
Porkos sandwich? No thank you. I love a good weekend barbecue with the best, but all vegetarianos for me please. My name is Jambonos. I am a real country girl with an accent you can cut with a knifeos. Let's ham it up a bit!
Series: Les Deglingos - Original
Manufacturer: Geared For Imagination
Artist: Laurent Manceron and Stephanie Dick
Material: Plush (Line uses over 50 different kinds of fabric)
Dimensions: 10” tall
The tag used on Jambonos is the same as the rest of the Deglingos line. It’s in the form of a small booklet that features photos and details of each of the cast of characters. It allows you to read the bios of the entire series.
If you’ve yet to check out the Deglingos line…I’d highly suggest it (especially if you have young kids). While collectors will love the fact that the line is displayable, thanks to a solid burlap bottom, kids love them due to all of the different materials – oh, and they’re pretty cute.
Jambonos seems like a natural choice for a character. The Deglingos line already has a dog, cat, sheep, chicken, cow, etc. So adding a little pig only makes sense. As with all of the plushies in this line, you have many different materials, from felt to burlap to corduroy to cotton to polyester.
One thing I need to point out. The little pig nipples are slightly disturbing. Well, disturbingly funny. Maybe they’re for the Mini Deglingos (they’re about 3.5” tall and have a clip on them) to nurse on. I’m actually going to try to not think too much into it.
As far as quality, these are really well put together. The stitching is top notch, especially considering the various materials used. I have received some emails regarding the arms on the Deglingos. They can actually turn to be posed. But each arm is held on by a pair of strings, so kids…don’t twist them too much or yank on them. They will pop off.
To sum it up…kids and collectors, or kids that are collectors, will love Jambonos. Or if you know someone who collects pigs…Jambonos. I actually just like saying the name Jambonos.
