Background

One of the first Uglydolls of 2010 - released in January - was the aptly named Pointy Max. Designed by David and Sun-Min, the green, triangle head character is described as follows:

You can’t control Pointy Max. You can’t stop Pointy Max. You can’t tell Pointy Max what to do. Oh wait, is that cheese? Oh then you own Pointy Max. Ok, so other than the weakness for cheese, Pointy Max can’t be beat. Unless you have blank pieces of paper. Pointy Max has a blank page phobia. Ok so there’s that. But good luck trying to hold him down! It won’t happen! Or it might happen if you sit on him. Or hold him down? If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em? Now that it’s clear you and Pointy Max are on the same side, perhaps you could let him in on your plans and dreams? Perhaps together, you’ll be unstoppable.

Our Opinion

The Uglydoll folks started off 2010 on a roll. By releasing a a pair of Uglys in the first month, they've set themselves up to have a pretty good year. Pointy Max gives collectors a slightly different shade of green than we've previously seen in characters like Winkolina, Poe, Uglyworm, OX, Jeero or Target. It's more of a forest green and not overly bright.

Like several other Uglys, Pointy Max features a single eye (cyclops style). He has the traditional Uglydoll straight-line mouth and a pair of pointy teeth (centered). And, of course, the unique thing about this character is his triangular, arrow-shaped head.

Overall, while the character design isn't my favorite of the 2010 Uglys...I love this color. It could have something to do with me being a Philadelphia Eagles fan, and this shade does look a little like their midnight green.
