Background

Last year, Crazy Label teamed up with Peskimo to bring the couple’s (David and Jodie) Monster Burp character from a piece of art to vinyl reality. Following the success of that first figure, they’ve released a new colorway with a glow-in-the-dark burp and added the ability to use Crazy Label’s line of Bubblefun accessories by including an adaptor. And to get you hooked…they’ve included one special Peskimo-designed Bubblefun with every Monster Burp Windy Pops Edition.

Our Opinion

When a new colorway is released, usually, the artist or company simply changes the colors. So you’re probably wondering what’s different between the original and the Windy Pops edition. Well aside from changing from a blue theme to a green one, there are some maybe-not-so-obvious artwork changes.

The burp has a new look to it: going from a passed out expression to one about to retch. The little monster has also changed slightly – his eyes changing from half circles to a squinted look. Oh…and the burp is now GID rather than just clear vinyl.

While you don’t get a folded up print, like the original Monster Burp, they’ve included a great accessory by packaging a Bubblefun piece and adaptor with each Windy Pops version. The adaptor allows you to fit the much smaller Bubblefun into the character’s mouth. Personally, I prefer displaying the figure with the Bubblefun because it takes up less space, balances better and looks a little more to scale. Plus…you can change things up if you buy a 4-pack of Bubblefun (what’s the plural version…Bubblefuns?)

I like the original version a little bit better than the Windy Pops edition, simply because I think blue (rather than green) goes better with black. Fans of GID pieces and Peskimo will obviously be attracted to this figure. And I give Crazy Label a thumbs up for including some cool accessories with this version.
