Background

San Diego Comic Con 2008 saw the Uglydoll booth with one limited edition exclusive plush for folks to fight over – Sleepy Chilly Ice-Bat.

Ice-Bat lives in an ice box.  Everything he touches turns to ice…Yet he warms your heart.  Aww! Yeah so anyway when Ice-Bat goes to bed he likes to wear his lucky singing hat and angel wing mittens.  As he hangs there waiting for sleep to come Ice-Bat can sing a tune and his hat can join in on the lullaby.  What do you sing when you’re getting ready for bed?  Why not have a sleepover with Ice-Bat and his lucky hat.  You’ll be singing a different tune in no time.

Packaging

The entire run of Sleepy Chilly Ice-Bat Uglys were held in metal garbage cans at the Uglydoll booth.  The actual plush has a tag with the above summary as well a drawing of the character.

The Figure

Sleepy Chilly Ice-Bat is approximately 18“ tall by 14.5“ wide.  While it
might resemble the regular Ice-Bat, this version has pink angel wings
and a green and white hat (with a face).  This plush was limited to a
run of 400 pieces.

Our Opinion

The Sleepy Chilly Ice-Bat character was released in a few different
colorways at past Uglycon shows.  However, this one is the first
version with the original Ice-Bat blue shade.  David and Sun-Min chose
possibly their most popular character for what is by far and away the
most popular toy convention in the United States.

I’d actually like to see more variant plushies like this.  Rather than
simply changing the color…I like the fact that a little something extra
has been added.

While the run of 400 quickly sold out, if you weren’t able to make it
out to Comic Con, there’s a chance you can pay a premium to pick one up
on ebay.
