Background

Who are these kuddly little kritters?  Carnival performers on the run?  Co-dependent aliens from a binary star?  Side effects from too much genetically modified catnip?  Nope!  They're just two regular konjoined kitties who want to come home with you and love you, no matter what mood you're in.

Konjoinedkitty comes to you from the mind of Michael Schupbach.  Schupbach is an award-winning character designer, builder and performer, who has worked with Disney and is an alumnus of Jim Henson’s Muppet Workshop.  He teamed up with ESC-Toy to manufacture the Konjoinedkitty plush, which is currently available in two different versions.

Packaging

You’ll possibly find the Konjoinedkitty plush packaged in a plastic bag.  If you pick one up in a store, it might be hanging from a black rop.  Every plush has a tag with information about the character.  However, it seems that they punched a hole in the wrong side because the tag does not open up.

The Figures

The Konjoinedkitty plush is approximately 10” wide by 7” tall.  It’s available in two different versions.  The first run of regular (Orange and Green) plushies is set at 300, with more to come.  However, the limited edition Yellow and Blue version (with 20% more emotion!) is set at 300 pieces.

The two kitties (one kute, one kranky) are attached at the hip, but if you turn them around, you can see they have two tails.  The tails form a heart with a little pink bunghole (maybe??) at the bottom.  The plush is about 3 ½” deep, which makes it a great pillow for little (or big) ones.

Our Opinion

The Konjoinedkitty character reminds me of the concept of yin and yang.  The yin would be the ever cranky, angry kitty, while the yang is the positive, happy half.  What’s one without the other?  Am I getting a little too philosophical for a toy review?  Possibly.

So, which version do you prefer?  I lean towards the Yellow and Blue plush, but it probably depends on your opinion of the color combinations.  While there are some slight differences in the actual facial expressions, hence the “with 20% more emotion” tagline, the construction of the plushies is the same.
